The adjustment should be performed with the engine at normal operating temperature. To adjust the cable, loosen the cable mounting bracket lock screw and position the bracket so the alignment tabs contact the transaxle casting, then tighten the lock screw to the specified torque. Release the cross-lock on the cable assembly by pulling up on it, ensuring the cable can slide freely toward the engine against the stop after releasing the cross-lock. Move the transaxle throttle control lever clockwise to its internal stop and press the cross-lock down to lock it in place. Check the cable action by moving it all the way forward, releasing it slowly, and confirming it returns completely. For rod adjustment, loosen the adjustment swivel lock screw and ensure the swivel slides freely along the flat end of the throttle rod; if it does not, disassemble the linkage for cleaning or repair.
