High output models have a two-piece intake manifold, and the manifold has to be removed as a whole assembly. The MTV is placed in the lower intake manifold. If required, the lower intake manifold can be detached from the upper intake manifold when the assembled one is detached from the engine. Start out by reducing pressure in the fuel system and then, turning the cable off from the car's negative terminal. Disconnect the air inlet duct from the throttle body and the intake manifold, detached the electrical connector from the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, and detachment the fuel line from the fuel rail also removing the fuel rail. Then, the brake booster hose will be taken off from the intake manifold, and the knock sensor connector and the bolt used for intake manifold support bracket will be also disconnected. Unplug the starter electrical connectors, the connector of the Manifold Tuning Valve for the high output models, the engine oil dipstick out of the housing, and disconnect the electrical connectors by pulling the intake manifold forward. Take off the intake manifold from the cylinder head by refraining all the intake manifold bolts. For inspection, use straight edge and feeler gauge to check intake manifold mating surface for warpage, if warpage is higher than this value, resurfacing or replacement is required. For installation, if it was removed, on the high output models, fit this lower intake manifold and fasten the fasteners in several stages commencing in the center region. Replace new seals or a new manifold gasket and then put the intake manifold assembly into place tightening the fasteners in the same manner. To reconnect, connect the Manifold Tuning Valve connector and all other harness connectors, reinstall the oil dipstick tube and do it in a backwards of the removal process.
