Dodge Nitro Air Bag

Dodge Nitro Air Bag inflates in milliseconds to prevent injury from an impact and deflates almost instantly to absorb energy from the occupant's first impact. Each Dodge Nitro is equipped with crash sensors that relay information about a potential impact to an electronic control unit. This unit will either send an electrical signal to deploy the Air Bag or not. If it does send a signal, a pyrotechnic inflator fills a bag with nitrogen gas, creating a soft barrier to help cushion impact between occupants and hard interior surfaces. The early models incorporated primarily driver and front passenger components. However, later versions of Dodge Nitro sport utility came with side-curtain and seat mounted Air Bag modules to offer better protection in case of rollovers or side hits.
