In order to take out the valve cover, at first, loosen the two
Camshafts of the engine. With the camshafts removed the rocker arms can now be lifted off with due care that each rocker arm is marked or placed in a particular container in a way that we maintain the original positions of each rocker arm. Some of the
Lash Adjusters can be kept in the head when not being changed. The rocker arm tip, roller and lash adjust pocket deserves scrutiny for wear signs and damage and should be replaced as required. All lash adjusters should also be checked for wear, especially the ball tip that rubs against the rocker arm, as these tend to get dirty; this is particularly so if there are concerns with them or if the engine emits valve 'tapping' sounds. In the same way used in removing the rocker arms, installation should also be done in the reverse manner with the rocker arms being put in the correct positions.
