How to remove and install the shifter in 8 speed transmisson on Dodge Ram 1500?

Pull out the cable(s) from the negative battery terminal(s). Get rid of the bezel in the center instrument panel. Get off the shifter by unfastening its electrical connector. From behind, unscrew and take away shifter-to-instrument panel bezel mounting screws and shifter. Put it back to where it was according to dismantling procedure.
