Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Using a trim tool, remove the radio trim bezel and HVAC control module. Remove the radio retaining screws, then pull the radio out of the instrument panel. When disconnecting the antenna connector(s), only pull on the connector body to avoid damage. Disconnect the electrical connectors and the antenna lead from the backside of the radio and remove the radio. Installation is the reverse of removal. These models are equipped with up to five speakers, including one at each end on the top of the instrument panel, one in each door, a subwoofer mounted within the right-rear quarter panel, and a double-speaker assembly mounted in the liftgate. For front door speakers, pry the speaker cover from the door panel, remove the four Torx screws securing the speaker, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker. Installation is the reverse of removal. For instrument panel speakers, remove the instrument panel top cover, remove the speaker mounting screws, pull out the speaker, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker from the end of the instrument panel. Installation is the reverse of removal. To access the rear double-speaker assembly in the liftgate, open the liftgate, unscrew the speaker assembly mounting fasteners, disconnect the speaker electrical connector, and remove the speaker assembly. Installation is the reverse of removal. For the subwoofer located in the right-rear quarter panel area, remove the right-rear quarter panel trim, remove the subwoofer retaining fasteners, disconnect the subwoofer electrical connector, and remove the subwoofer. Installation is the reverse of removal.
