To begin, place the wipers in the Park position and mark the location of the wiper arms before removing them. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Pry off the protective caps covering the wiper arm nuts and remove the nuts that attach the wiper arms to their spindle shafts. If the wiper arms are difficult to remove, use a small two-jaw puller to loosen them and wiggle them free. Next, remove the cowl cover and disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector. Remove the mounting fasteners for the wiper transmission linkage assembly, disengage the grommet from the wiper motor, and take the assembly out from the cowl. Remove the motor mounting bolts to separate the wiper motor from the wiper transmission assembly, marking the location of the wiper motor shaft to the pivot arms for correct installation. Transfer the motor onto the linkage and securely tighten the fasteners. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring to operate the wiper motor and linkage without the wiper arms attached to confirm correct operation before reinstalling the cowl cover. Return the wiper motor to the Park position, disconnect the negative battery cable, and continue with the installation. For the rear wiper, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, lift the wiper arm/blade off the window, and remove the rear wiper arm similarly to the front. Remove the liftgate trim paneling, disconnect the electrical connector from the rear wiper motor, and take out the three bolts securing the wiper motor to the liftgate. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal.
