How to check and replace the transmission mount on Jeep Liberty?

It is mounted on the underside of the case towards the rear portion of the transmission. Start by lifting the car using jack and put it on jackstands in the right manner. While you are under it, and for most of you listening this is not you, insert a large screwdriver or prybar in between the transmission and the crossmember to check the mount the second way is to pry the transmission up slightly and look for cracks in the rubber as there should be very little movement between the center of the mount and the rubber insulator. If there are these cracks, then it is advised that the mount be changed. To do this first jack up the transmission slightly and then remove both crossmember-to-frame bolts on either side of the vehicle. Next, remove the through-bolt that hold the transmission support bracket to the mount, care must be taken at this point to support the crossmember to avoid falling. Following that, you have to take out the transmission mount bolts, in the transmission. After that, installation is performed in the reverse sequence to the removal of all the equipment making sure that the fastener of the transmission mount and the crossmember are tightened to the recommended torque.
