Lift the parking brake to the uppermost position, take hold of both ends of the console and turn it outwards to disengage the pressure clips. Raise the rear section to release the rear pressure clips and thereby lift the console sufficiently to sort out the electrical contacts or if present, get rid of all the connectors. Safely retract the console back from the parking brake lever/handle. For the floor shifter housing trim paneling to be removed, one has to start by removing the center console, next you have to pull the shifter knob as hard as you can.
