For models from 1987 through 1995, begin by having the air conditioning discharged at a qualified shop if applicable. Remove the bolts to detach the radiator and shroud from the grille panel, then take out the bolts securing the grille panel to the crossmember and
Fenders. Loosen the support rod nuts, detach the rod, lift the grille panel up, tilt it forward, and disconnect the wiring harness. With the air conditioning disconnected, remove the high-pressure hose from the sight glass and cap it before taking the grille panel out of the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For models from 1997 to 2006, evacuate the air conditioning system if equipped, then remove the front crossmember cover, crossmember valance cover, and cooling system reservoir. Detach the bolts securing the radiator and shroud to the grille panel, disconnect the high-pressure and low-pressure lines at the quick-disconnect fittings, and cap them. Remove the bolts connecting the radiator support rod to the grille panel, unplug the electrical connectors for the headlights, turn signals, side markers, and horns, and take out the fender-to-grille panel bolts and grille-to-frame mount bolt before detaching the grille from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal while ensuring proper alignment of the rubber support bumpers. For models from 2007 and later, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, release the six pushpins along the top of the grille panel, and use a plastic trim tool to release the tabs on the five plastic clips along the bottom/rear edge of the grille panel. Pull the grille panel out enough to disconnect the electrical connectors and remove it, with installation being the reverse of removal.
