Use pliers to compress the cable retain clips and push the cable retainer out of the accelerator pedal arm, then slide the cable out of the slot in the pedal arm and remove it from inside the engine compartment.

Start by removing the retainer or plug inside the vehicle and detach the cable end from the accelerator pedal shaft. Then, remove the retainer clip from the cable assembly housing at the grommet and pull the cable through the firewall. In the engine compartment, remove the retainer clip and separate the cable from the pin or stud on the throttle lever using needle-nose pliers. Detach the cable from the mounting bracket by compressing the cable-to-bracket fitting with pliers and pulling the cable through the bracket.

After moving the transaxle throttle lever toward the engine, hold it against its stop and tighten the lock screw to the specified torque.
