Jeep 5105041AI Front Lower Control Arm

First of all, to remove the control arm, loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels, raise the vehicle, and remove the wheels. Remove the nut and ball joint pinch bolt, and free the ball joint. Remove the control arm-to-subframe fasteners and the control arm. To install the new control arm, place it in the subframe and install the rear bolt and nut, then the front pivot bolt, without tightening.

Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. While keeping the stabilizer bar link lower stud stationary, remove the nut. Remove the cover from the lower control arm, if equipped. Remove the lower shock mount bolt and the stabilizer bar link-to-lower control arm nut. Separate the link from the arm. Remove the lower control arm-to-knuckle bolt. Remove the lower control arm-to-cross-member fastener and remove the lower control arm. Installation is the reverse of removal. Before tightening any of the fasteners, raise the suspension with a floor jack placed under the outer end of the lower control arm to simulate normal ride height, then tighten the fasteners to the torque.
