In order to successfully dismantle the center console, you need to remove the carpet from the storage bin so as to access to screws built into the bin floor, then take off the outer screws provided on both sides of the console. Lift the parking brake to the uppermost position, take hold of both ends of the console and turn it outwards to disengage the pressure clips. Raise the rear section to release the rear pressure clips and thereby lift the console sufficiently to sort out the electrical contacts or if present, get rid of all the connectors. Safely retract the console back from the parking brake lever/handle. For the floor shifter housing trim paneling to be removed, one has to start by removing the center console, next you have to pull the shifter knob as hard as you can. Insert flat trim tool to lift shifter /boot or trim panel bezel from the housing trim by overcoming the retaining clips. Then, undo the upper and lower retaining screws that fix the shifter housing to the assembly and there is the trim panel in question. The process of reinstalling is as follows: it is done in a reverse order to that of the removal.
