    Q:
How to remove the Harmonic Balancer in a four-cylinder engine on Jeep Comanche? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove drivebelts. Unscrew the fan shroud if present. Raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. For manual transmission, apply parking brake and put in gear. Remove crankshaft pulley bolts. For automatic transmission, remove starter motor and immobilize starter ring gear while loosening pulley bolts. Loosen harmonic balancer retaining bolt, remove it and the balancer. If needed, use a wheel puller. Apply moly-base grease to balancer seal contact surface. Align balancer with crankshaft and tap into position. Tighten balancer-to-crankshaft bolt to specified torque. Install crankshaft pulley and tighten bolts with Loctite. Finally, reinstall drivebelts and fan shroud.

    Q:
How to remove and install the drivebelts, crankshaft pulley, and Harmonic Balancer in V6 engine on Jeep Wagoneer? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by removing the bolts and separating the radiator shroud from the radiator. Remove the cooling fan and shroud. Loosen the drivebelt adjusting bolts and remove the drivebelts, tagging each for reinstallation. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolts and the pulley, locking the starter ring gear to prevent rotation. Coat the front cover sealing surface with moly-base grease before installing the harmonic balancer. Align the harmonic balancer over the key on the crankshaft and use a tool to install it. Remove the tool, install the harmonic balancer bolt, and tighten it. Installation is the reverse of removal.
