Q:
How to Remove a Coolant Reservoir? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove a non-pressurized coolant reservoir, start by placing a drain pan underneath it and disconnecting the reservoir hose from the radiator outlet. Then, remove the mounting bolts of the reservoir. For a pressurized coolant reservoir, first drain the cooling system to a level below the reservoir container. If the coolant is in good condition, save it. Remove the power steering reservoir screw (if applicable) and disconnect the return hose on top of the coolant reservoir container. Remove the mounting bolts and disconnect the hose(s) from the bottom of the reservoir container. In both cases, lift the reservoir straight up and out. Before installation, clean the reservoir with soapy water and a brush, checking for any damage. Replace if necessary. Finally, fill the reservoir with the appropriate coolant.
