    Raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Apply the parking brake and remove the wheels. If equipped with a skid plate, remove it.

    For models with hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering gear, tighten the steering gear mounting bolts and the intermediate shaft coupler pinch bolt. For models with electric power steering (EPS rack-and-pinion steering gear), complete the calibration procedure after installation. For models with recirculating ball steering gear, if installing a new steering gear or Pitman arm, remove the Pitman arm from the steering gear sector shaft. Re-check the power steering fluid level after the installation.
