To remove the tie-rod, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the front of the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the front wheel and then loosen the nut on the tie-rod end stud, holding it with a wrench if necessary. Use locking pliers or a wrench to hold the tie-rod and loosen the jam nut, marking the position of the tie-rod end in relation to the threads. Disconnect the tie-rod from the steering knuckle arm using a puller, removing the nut and detaching the tie-rod end. Unscrew the tie-rod end from the tie-rod. To install the tie-rod, thread the tie-rod end onto the marked position and insert the tie-rod stud into the steering knuckle arm, ensuring the heat shield is positioned correctly. Tighten the jam nut securely and install the nut on the stud, tightening it to the specified torque. Finally, install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque. It is recommended to have the alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.
