    How do you remove and install the shift knob on four-and five-speed transmissions on Dodge Challenger? Posted by Customer

    Four and five speed transmissions employ a cable operated shift level mechanism which means the shift knob can be replaced, while in the other models the shift knob is incorporated with the bezel and cover. To unbolt the knob one has to pry off the lower trim plate with a small trim removal tool. After that, one has to take a firm grip unto the shift knob and wrench it upwards and outwards to disconnect it from the shift lever assembly, as well as disconnect the lower trim of the assembly. To install, it is done in the order of the steps used in its removal.
