    To remove the carrier plate, start by removing the door trim panel. On crew cab models, also remove the speaker and access panel at the rear of the door. On club cab models, remove the two small access plugs in the upper center of the door.

    To remove the outside handle, disconnect the cable(s) from the negative battery terminal(s) and remove the carrier plate. Disconnect the two control rods from the handle and remove the door handle bolts from the inside of the door, then remove the handle.
