The Ram 1500, a full-size pickup truck from Stellantis North America, has been in production since 2010 as a continuation of the Dodge Ram line, which originated in 1981. The model, which has won Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year eight times, underwent a complete redesign in 2009. It features a solid axle and coil spring rear suspension, enhancing its drive feel. Engine options include a base-level 215hp V6 and a more powerful 5.7L V8, which delivers 390hp. Compared to its rivals such as the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150, and Toyota Tundra, the Ram 1500 offers superior features. The model is equipped with an array of safety components like four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, trailer-sway control, stability control, hill-start assist, and various airbags, earning it top safety scores. In 2013, the model was updated with a new front fascia, a 4.7L V8 engine replacing the previous V6, and an enhanced infotainment system with Uconnect options. The 2016 refresh of the Ram 1500 brought in an off-road suspension, a redesigned interior, and engine options of a 3.6L Pentastar VVT FlexFuel-Capable V6 or a 5.7L HEMI V8. The model was renamed the Ram 1500 Classic in 2019 and continues to see minor enhancements year after year.

Designed as a full-size pickup truck, the Ram 1500 is commonly used for hauling or loading heavy goods over long distances, and with prolonged use, it can manifest some issues as reported by its drivers. One major problem is with the braking system, which may exhibit signs like leaking brake fluid, corrosion, unresponsive brake pedal, or rear brakes locking up on their own, particularly on wet or slippery surfaces. The illumination of the Brake Warning Light or ABS Light is another indication of a potential problem, which may be caused by issues with the brake line, brake proportioning valve, or ABS control module. Another prevalent issue is the suspension failure, often recognized by clunking noises coming from the front or rear suspension, excessive front-end vibrations felt through the steering wheel, irregular tire wear, or steering wandering to the left or right unintentionally. It's advised to check the front or rear ball joint, control arm bushing, and control arm for any problems. Apart from these, routine replacement is recommended for other easily worn parts like the headlight, drive belt, and air filter, which are often overlooked but are crucial for optimal vehicle performance.

For unrivaled quality, OEM parts are the ultimate choice. These parts are manufactured by Ram's official factory using top-quality materials and undergo strict testing procedures, ensuring outstanding dependability and long-lasting durability. For superior quality for your vehicle, consider choosing from our extensive inventory of OEM Ram 1500 parts, such as Suspension & Drive, Differential And Drive Line. Our genuine Ram 1500 parts are not only offered at unbeatable prices, but they also come with guaranteed quality. Place an order today, and enjoy the fastest delivery right to your doorstep.

Ram 1500 Parts Questions & Answers

  • Q: How to Remove the Air Conditioning and Heater Control Assembly?
A: Disconnect the cable(s) from the negative battery terminal(s). Remove the floor console trim panel if equipped. Remove the center trim bezel. Pull the bezel forward and disconnect the electrical connectors. Pull the center instrument panel out, then depress the tabs and detach the electrical connectors from the back of the A/C switch. Remove the four mounting screws and detach the A/C switch. Installation is the reverse of removal.
  • Q: Where is the Fuel Pump Located and How Can it be Checked?
A: The fuel pump can be found in the fuel tank and can be checked by turning the ignition key ON. If the pump does not come on, check the fuses and wiring. If the pump runs consistently, the PCM or TIPM may be defective. To check, relieve the system pressure and connect a gauge to the injector fuel rail. Start the engine and check the pressure; if it is not within specifications, check for restrictions or replace the fuel pump module.
  • Q: What Should Be Checked Before Replacing a Thermostat?
A: Before replacing the thermostat, check the coolant level, drive belt tension, and temperature gauge. To replace the thermostat, disconnect the battery cable and drain the cooling system. Follow the radiator hose to the engine and remove the necessary components. Squeeze the tabs on the hose clamp and detach the hose(s). Install a new rubber gasket and insert the thermostat into the housing.
