Before removing the Brake Master Cylinder, the wire connecting the negative terminal of the battery should be disconnected and then the brake pedal should be pressed down several times in order to release the vacuum in the power brake booster. Take off the access cover in the cowl and clean the Brake Master Cylinder and reservoir with brake cleaner and, with the help of a syringe, extract as much of the fluid as possible. Remove the electrical connector of the Brake fluid level warning switch. If there are any further electrical connectors of the ESP system, they should be removed as well. Accompany rags under the fittings and caps or bags for the brake line ends, then turn the fittings at the brake lines entering the Brake Master Cylinder with the flare-nut wrench without rounding off corners of the fittings. Pull the brake lines back and seal off the ends to reduce contamination, and then the mounting nuts have to be unscrewed, and the Brake Master Cylinder has to be pulled off the studs, though being very careful not to spill any of the fluid or kink the lines in the process. For installation, bench bleed the new Brake Master Cylinder by placing it in a bench vise, connecting two bleeder tubes in the two outlet ports of the Brake Master Cylinder, and filling the reservoir with the recommended brake fluid. Gently feel the pistons and slowly force them to enter the Brake Master Cylinder to release all air bubbles, continue until no air can be seen. After disconnecting the bleed tubes and inserting plugs there; put a fresh vacuum seal on the Brake Master Cylinder; cover and bolt the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir over the studs on the power brake booster; do not overtighten it. Connect the brake line fittings to the Brake Master Cylinder without stripping them then tighten all the nuts and other fittings. Add the right fluid in the reservoir and release the brake system through operation of the brake pedal and unscrewing the line fitting to release air and fluid until clear. The last process is to remove the clamps in the reverse order and check for the proper functioning of the brake system before it is put to use.
