- A:The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank and can be checked by turning the ignition key to ON and listening for the sound of the pump briefly turning on. If the pump does not come on, check the fuses in the underhood fuse/relay box. If the fuses are okay, check the wiring back to the fuel pump. If everything is okay, the fuel pump is probably defective. If the pump runs continuously with the ignition key in the ON position, the PCM or TIPM may be defective. To perform a fuel pressure check, relieve the fuel system pressure and connect a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve test port on the injector fuel rail. Start the engine and check the pressure on the gauge. If the fuel pressure is not within specifications, check for restrictions in the fuel system or replace the fuel pump module.Posted by MoparPartsGiant Specialist
