The circuit checking procedure for manually operated heating and air conditioning systems involves several steps. First, check the fuse and all connections in the circuit for looseness and corrosion, ensuring the battery is fully charged. With the transmission in Park and the parking brake applied, turn the ignition switch to the On position (engine not running). Locate the blower motor under the glove compartment area of the dash, near the firewall, and release the wiring harness by bending back the clip on one of the blower motor mounting screws. Connect a voltmeter to the blower motor connector and move the blower switch through each position, noting the voltage readings. Changes in voltage indicate varying motor speeds. If there is voltage but the blower motor does not operate, connect a jumper wire between the motor ground terminal and a good chassis ground, as well as a fused jumper wire between the battery positive terminal and the positive terminal on the motor side of the connector. If the motor works with these connections, remove the jumper wire and check for a bad ground. If the motor still doesn't work, it is likely faulty. If there is no voltage at the blower motor, remove the resistor block connector and check for voltage at any of the connector terminals. If there is voltage, check the resistor block for continuity and the wiring for an open or short. If there is no voltage to the resistor, remove the heater control panel and check for voltage at the blower motor switch connector. If there is no voltage at the switch, check the wiring between the fuse panel and the switch for an open or short. If there is voltage, connect a jumper wire between the terminal of the switch connector with voltage and each of the terminals that supply voltage to the resistor block. If the motor operates normally with this connection, replace the switch.

Release the locking tab, then rotate and remove the motor from the housing.
