- Q:How Do You Remove the Power Steering Pump? Posted by Customer
- A:To remove the drivebelt, use a large syringe or suction gun to remove as much fluid as possible from the power steering fluid reservoir. Place a drain pan under the power steering pump and disconnect the pressure line and return hose, plugging the openings to prevent fluid loss and contamination. Remove the pump mounting bolts, accessible through the holes in the power steering pump pulley. Carefully lift the pump from the engine compartment, being cautious not to let any fluid drip on the vehicle's paint. To reinstall, tighten all fasteners securely, fill the power steering reservoir with the recommended fluid, and bleed the system.
