To replace the blower motor resistor, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the windshield wiper arms and the cowl top screen at the base of the windshield. On the right side of the cowl area, disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor. Carefully pry the resistor with a flat-bladed screwdriver to release the snap fit and remove it. Make sure not to interchange the air conditioning and non-air conditioning resistors. To install, simply reverse the removal steps. To replace the blower motor, begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal and removing the lower dash panel from the right side of the dashboard below the glove box. Pull back the carpet and disconnect the blower motor electrical connector. For air conditioned models, remove the blower motor mounting screws and then remove the blower motor from the blower housing. For non-air conditioned models, pull the release tab down and simultaneously rotate the blower motor 1/8 turn counterclockwise to separate it from the blower housing. For all models, remove the circlip from the fan and separate the fan from the blower motor frame. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal.
