To remove the disc, remove the brake caliper and hang it out of the way. Remove the caliper mounting bracket and, if equipped, the hub extender. Remove the lug nuts and pull the disc off the hub. If removing a rear disc on a model with dual rear wheels, remove the rear axleshaft and hub and bearing assembly, then unbolt the disc from the hub.

To inspect the brakes, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jackstands. Apply the parking brake and remove the wheels. Visually inspect the disc surface for score marks and other damage. Deep grooves require disc removal and refinishing. Check both sides of the disc. To check disc runout, place a dial indicator about 1/2-inch from the outer edge of the disc. Set the indicator to zero and turn the disc. The indicator reading should not exceed the runout limit. If it does, the disc should be refinished. Check the disc thickness with a micrometer. To remove the disc, remove the brake caliper and hang it out of the way. Tighten the disc-to-hub bolts securely. Lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel lug nuts to the specified torque.
