Where is the EGR Valve and EGR Tube Located and How to Remove and Install for the Dodge Dakota? Posted by Customer

The EGR valve, if equipped, is located on the front of the right cylinder head. To remove the EGR valve, first remove the air intake duct and the air filter housing. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR valve. Then, remove the EGR tube mounting flange bolts. Next, remove the EGR valve mounting bolts and discard the old gasket. For installation, use new gaskets between the EGR valve and the cylinder head and between the EGR tube mounting flange and the EGR valve. Tighten the EGR valve and EGR tube mounting bolts to the specified torque. To remove the EGR tube, follow the same steps to remove the air intake duct and the air filter housing. Remove the EGR tube mounting flange bolts. Then, remove the wire retaining clip that secures the other end of the EGR pipe to the throttle body. For installation, tighten the EGR tube mounting flange bolts to the specified torque.

Remove the air intake duct and air filter housing. Disconnect the electrical connector by sliding the red lock forward, depressing the release tab, and pulling off the connector. Remove the EGR tube mounting flange bolts and the EGR valve mounting bolts. Remove the valve and discard the old EGR tube and EGR valve gaskets.
