Q:
How do you install the steering wheel for the 2000 Chrysler Cirrus? Posted by Customer
A:
Ensure the airbag clock spring is centered by turning it clockwise until it stops and then counter-clockwise until yellow appears in the centering window. Lower the steering wheel into position, aligning the marks and engaging the flats on the hub with the flats on the clock spring. Tighten the nut to the specified torque. Route and reconnect electrical connectors, such as the speed control switch leads, and install the speed control switches. Plug in the horn and airbag module connectors and press the speed control switches into the retaining channels. Connect the clock spring electrical leads to the speed control switches and insert the locking tab in the back of the airbag module connector. Align the airbag module alignment pins with the mating hole and slot in the steering wheel and tighten the retaining bolts. Finally, reapply battery power by installing the remote ground cable on the ground stud.
