Relieve system fuel pressure, then disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Drain the engine coolant, followed by removing the
Throttle Body/air intake plenum cover and the upper intake manifold. Next, remove the upper radiator hose and disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel rail by squeezing the two tabs on the quick-connect fitting together and pulling up. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors by pushing up on the lock, squeezing the tab on the same side of the connector as the lock, and pulling up. Remove the fuel rail bolts to detach the fuel rail, then carefully pull up on the fuel rail to disengage the injectors from their respective bores in the intake manifold, removing the fuel rail and injectors. Remove the injector retaining clips and detach the injectors from the fuel rail by pulling off each retaining clip, pulling out the injector, and removing the O-rings. Discard the old O-rings and replace them with new ones along with a new grommet. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to tighten the fuel rail retaining bolts to the specified torque. Refill and bleed the cooling system, and when finished, start the engine to check for leaks at the fuel supply hose fitting at the fuel rail and at each injector.
