Oil changes prevent engine wear. Identify the oil drain plug and filter locations. Warm up the engine, turn it off, and remove the filler cap. Raise the vehicle, place a drain pan under the plug, and remove it to drain the oil. Inspect the oil, wipe the plug, and reinstall it. Move the pan under the filter, loosen it, wipe the surface, and remove the old gasket. For 3.6L engines, replace the filter and O-ring in the cap. Lower the vehicle, add oil, check the level, and look for leaks. Dispose of old oil properly. To reset the oil change indicator, turn the ignition on and press the accelerator three times.
