How do you remove and install Shift Lever on Dodge Avenger?

Disconnect the negative battery cable from the remote ground terminal or battery. Remove the center floor console. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the shifter. Detach the shift cable and the BTSI cable from the shift lever. Remove the shifter assembly mounting bolts and detach the shifter from the floor. Installation is the reverse of removal. Adjust the BTSI cable and the shift cable.
