Depressurize the fuel system and remove the battery to take off the cylinder heads. Empty the cooling system and get rid of
Intake Manifold,
Exhaust Manifold(s), valve covers,
Rocker Arms and push rods. Unfasten head bolts according to a particular manner and unscrew them manually. Detach heads from an engine by using a wooden block or hitting wood with a hammer. The heads should be protected from damaging the gasket sealing surfaces by putting them on blocks of wood. When installing, ensure that mating faces are clean and clear of any dirt particles or debris. Gasket scraper can be used to clean up these faces as well as lacquer thinner or acetone. Finally check for damage, use emery cloth or machine if necessary; chase threads in head bolt holes and clean bolt threads too. Position new gaskets properly in block dowels. Carefully lay heads on top of block without disturbing gaskets.Coat head bolt threads with engine oil before inserting bolts back into their original positions; tighten in recommended sequence following torque specification in several steps.Complete remaining installation steps in reverse order. Finally, start the engine, check for proper operation and leaks, add coolant/ change oil plus filler.
