When performing the throttle cable adjustment, one has to get into the engine compartment and remove the adjustment locking clip on the throttle body by pulling the tabs and then moving the clip to the side. Subsequently, get hold of the throttle cable and slide it in the direction of the throttle body to enable auto calibration, and then use a finger to tap the lock pin to ensure that the cable does not move. That done, proceed to a road test for proper confirmation of kickdown actuation. For replacement, open the hood and cover the left fender with a blanket and subsequently come off the air filter housing. To remove the cable the lock mechanism has to be pried out and the cable pulled horizontally away from the bracket besides the throttle body assembly, then disconnected from the lever on the transaxle. To do this, pull out the old throttle cable and plug in the new one in the same manner as followed while removing it; thereafter adjust the new throttle cable according to the directions stated above.
