To remove the accelerator cable cover, squeeze the locking tab and slide the cover sideways to disengage it from the metal bracket. Then, pull off the cover. Next, release the cable retaining tab from the cable bracket using a small screwdriver and disengage the cable from the bracket. Pry the cable retaining tab loose from its hole in the bracket and slide the cable out. Disengage the accelerator cable from its slot in the throttle lever cam by removing the cable end plug. Also, remove the cable from any clamps or clips in the engine compartment, noting the routing beforehand. Inside the vehicle, under the dash, remove the cable retainer from the top of the accelerator pedal and disengage the cable from the slot in the top of the accelerator pedal assembly. Remove the clip retaining the cable grommet to the firewall, pop the grommet out of the hole, and push the cable through. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal.
