Dodge Ramcharger Rocker Arm

Rocker Arm is an important part of the valvetrain system of the engines used in Dodge Ram charger cars where it provides the transferring motion for the Pushrod to Intake and Exhaust valves. Usually fabricated from stamped steel or aluminum, these rocker arms transform the vertical movement of the pushrod into the amount of downward push to open the valves. For high RPM engines, aluminum material is ideal for the lightweight nature Mals because the strength while cast iron or forged carbon steel is ideal especially in the manufacturing of diesel engines. Traditional and roller types of Rocker Arms may be installed in Dodge Ramcharger models. Unlike traditional rocker arms, roller rockers utilise needle bearings thus implying lesser friction and wear, which makes them better suited for performance. The rocker ratio which is between 1.5:1 and 1.8:1 on todays engines can increase camshaft lift hence enhancing the general performance of the engine. There is also use of modified fulcrum bearings especially in Dodge Ramcharger engines with higher RPM for better stress management and durability.

    A:
Label and disconnect the spark plug wires, securing them out of the way. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation system and evaporation control system hoses from the rocker arm covers. Ensure that the rocker arm shaft is installed with the notch on the left-side shaft pointing to the centerline and front of the engine, while the notch on the right-side shaft points to the centerline and rear of the engine. The long stamped steel retainers should be installed in the number two and four positions. For 400 and 440 cubic inch engines, position the rocker arm shafts so that the 3/16-inch rocker arm lubrication holes point down into the rocker arm, with the 15° angle of the hole directed towards the valve end of the rocker arms, as determined from the centerline of the bolt holes through the shaft used to attach the shaft assembly to the Cylinder Head.
