How to Remove the Heater/Air Conditioning Control Assembly on Jeep Compass?

Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Carefully pry the A/C switch bezel assembly from the instrument panel. Disconnect all electrical connectors from the back of the A/C switch assembly. On models with manual heating and air conditioning, disconnect the control cables from the back of the A/C switch assembly. Remove the mounting fasteners at each corner, then remove the switch assembly from the bezel. Installation is the reverse of removal. If the A/C switch assembly is being replaced, calibration/diagnostic tests will be necessary. This will require a specialized scan tool; take the vehicle to a dealer service department or other qualified repair shop to have this service performed.
