For 3.6L V6, 3.7L V6, and 4.7L V8 engines, begin by removing the fuel tank filler neck cap to relieve pressure, then relieve the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove the air intake duct along with the air box resonator. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel rail, label and disconnect any interfering vacuum hoses, and disconnect electrical connectors from information sensors on the
Throttle Body, setting the wiring harnesses aside. For 3.6L engines, remove the upper intake manifold. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors, ensuring each is numbered according to its cylinder. Remove ignition coils from 2010 and earlier models, clean debris around the injectors, and remove the fuel rail mounting nuts/bolts. Gently rock the fuel rail and injectors to loosen them, then remove as an assembly without separating the left and right fuel rails. Remove injectors from the fuel rail, discarding O-rings, and coat new O-rings with clean engine oil before installing them on the injectors. Clean the injector bores on the intake manifold, guide the injectors/fuel rail assembly into place, ensuring full seating, and tighten the mounting nuts/bolts to the specified torque. After installation, turn the ignition switch to ON to activate the
Fuel Pump and build pressure, checking for leaks afterward. For Hemi engines, obtain a special fuel line disconnection tool to disconnect the metal collar fitting from the fuel rail. Repeat the initial steps of relieving fuel pressure and disconnecting the negative battery terminal, then remove the air intake duct and resonator box. Disconnect the fuel supply line fitting from the left fuel rail using the tool, disconnect the throttle body connector, and disconnect connectors from all eight ignition coils and fuel injectors. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts and hold-down clamps, then carefully pull on the injectors while wiggling them until all are free, removing the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Remove injector retainer clips and pull injectors from the fuel rail, discarding old O-rings and installing new ones lubricated with clean engine oil. Finally, reverse the removal process for installation, ensuring to tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts to the specified torque.
