- A:When working on the fuel injector rail assembly, follow these precautions:a. Relieve fuel tank pressure and system fuel pressure.b. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.c. Label and unplug the injector harness connectors.d. Detach the vacuum tube from the fuel pressure regulator.e. Remove the fuel supply hose, fuel return line from the intake manifold, and fuel return line from the fuel pressure regulator.f. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts.g. - A:To fuel the body, start by detaching the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the throttle body and the three Torx head screws that attach the fuel body to it. Discard the original gasket and install a new one. For the fuel injector, remove the throttle body upper and lower bonnets. Detach the injector connector by compressing the lock tabs and lifting up. Remove the retainer and gently remove the injector by rocking it back and forth. Discard the centering ring and upper and lower O-rings. Lubricate the replacement O-rings and install them, along with the centering ring. Align the locating tab on the injector and install it, then tighten the retainer screws. Attach the injector connector and reinstall the bonnets. For the fuel pressure regulator, remove the throttle body and the mounting screws. Remove the housing, spring, spring seats, diaphragm, and pivot. Clean any foreign material from the housing. Install the new regulator, making sure the diaphragm vent hole is aligned with the vent holes in the throttle body and housing. Start the engine and check for leaks, then adjust the fuel pressure. To replace the throttle position sensor (TPS), remove the air inlet bonnets and the throttle body. Unplug the TPS connector and remove the mounting screws. Remove the TPS from the throttle shaft lever and reinstall it, making sure the TPS arm is underneath the throttle shaft lever. Have the TPS adjusted by a dealer service department. Lastly, for the idle speed actuator (ISA) motor, disconnect the harness connector and remove the throttle return spring. Remove the mounting nuts and the ISA motor from the bracket.
