The oil pump is actually a part of the balance shaft module and could not be separated or repaired; whenever there is a problem with the oil pump this means that the whole balance shaft module has to be replaced. Push the oil pump/BSM tensioner piston back into the tensioner body and secure it there by locking it with the aid of a special tool made from a drill bit. Undo the BSM mounting bolts in the sequence the bolts were tightened, rotate the rear of the balance shaft module downwards, then unhook the timing chain from the sprocket then unhook the BSM and the chain from the crankshaft sprocket. Check the BSM mounting bolts and replace the 180mm bolts while the 185mm bolts should have no gaps between the threads and a straight edge: apply clean engine oil on the threads before tightening. Clean the bolt holes for the BSM mounting bolts; position the timing chain over the crankshaft sprocket, and the plated link with either the supplied timing mark or previously made timing marks. Raise the BSM and orient the drive sprocket meshingly fitted to the timing chain and slidably fitted to the plated link directed to the timing mark of the smaller drive gear. It is important that while having the BSM secured, pass the mounting bolts and initially thread these in several sequences in equal increments before threading it into the recommended sequence with the required torque. The process of the final tightening step is to achieve a particular degree of rotation measure with an angle-torque gauge or by another method involving marking bolt head and tightening it in succession. Timing Cover on , then the oil pan and the valve cover. Fend off installing all the parts and components in the reverse manner and fit a new oil filter and engine oil, engage the engine, check for oil pressure and any leakage, and check the level of the engine oil.
