    Start by raising the rear of the vehicle and supporting it securely on jackstands placed under the frame rails. Support the rear axle with a floor jack placed under the axle tube on the side being worked on.

    How do you remove the Shock Absorber for the 2008 Dodge Durango? Posted by Customer
    A:
    Start by loosening the front wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the front wheels and support the outer end of the control arm using a floor jack or equivalent. Then, remove the fasteners that attach the upper end of the shock to the frame and disconnect the stabilizer bar link from the lower control arm. Remove the fasteners attaching the lower end of the shock absorber to the lower control arm and finally, remove the shock absorber.
