Then, remove the retainer clip from the cable assembly housing at the grommet and pull the cable through the firewall. In the engine compartment, remove the retainer clip and separate the cable from the pin or stud on the throttle lever using needle-nose pliers. Detach the cable from the mounting bracket by compressing the cable-to-bracket fitting with pliers and pulling the cable through the bracket.
