    Q:
How to check and replace a dimmer switch on Chrysler Imperial? Posted by Customer
    A:
To verify the operation of the dimmer switch the following steps need to be followed; first is to disconnect the steering column by removing the cover and also pull the electrical connector of the switch. Continuity can be tested using an ohmmeter between the switch terminals; between the B and H terminals should show continuity in the high beam position and between the B and L terminal in the low beam position. Otherwise they need to be replace This might be due to the absence of continuity existed and hence the switch has to be replaced. For replacement, unbolt the two bolts to bring the switch down from the steering column, then put the new switch in its proper position, and screw in the bolts to fit hand tight. Make an adjustment pin out of a piece of wire/ Disengage this switch to the rear so that there is no unnecessary play on the actuator control rod/ Then it is time to tighten the bolts. Finally and last, take the pin; connect the connector as it is shown above; and replace the steering column cover.

    Q:
How to remove and install the headlight switch assembly on Chrysler Imperial? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative battery cable, then remove the instrument cluster bezel. Next, take out the mounting plate screws associated with the headlight switch. Pull the switch assembly out of the dash and unplug the electrical connector. Press the release button on the side of the switch to withdraw the switch knob and shaft. Remove the screws to detach the switch from the mounting plate and take out the switch. Snap the escutcheon out of the dash and remove the nut holding the switch on the mounting plate. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to Remove a Headlight Switch on Dodge Ramcharger? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the cluster face plate, first remove the left air-conditioning duct if necessary. Then, reach under the instrument panel and depress the stem and knob release button on the bottom of the switch housing. Pull the knob and stem assembly out of the switch housing. For later model vehicles, remove the wiper switch knob and bezel. Remove the switch spanner nut from the front of the instrument panel. Reach under the instrument panel and maneuver the switch down to disconnect the electrical leads. Finally, remove the switch. The installation process is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to replace the headlight dimmer switch on Jeep Wrangler? Posted by Customer
    A:
For 1997 and later models, the headlight dimmer switch is combined with the left multi-function switch. Start with the removal of the cable in a way that the terminal with the minus sign is disconnected. Third, dessemble the instrument cluster bezel. For air conditioning models remove evaporator housing & bracket from the instrument panel to get access to the switch. Some Ferraris secured the switch actuating rod to the shaft; in the same way, fasten the switch actuating rod so it does not get unhooked from the steering column. Two bolts have to be unscrewed and the rest of the rod to be unplugged followed by the electrical connector and then the switch has to be brought down from the steering column. Lever the new switch into position with the rod and get it in place before tightening the mounting bolts on finger-tightness only. And finally, having peeled off the securing tape from the rod, drill in the adjustment hole a 3/32-inch drill bit, having shifted the switch to compress the actuator control rod and having tightly tightened the bolts leaving no space between them. Last of all, withdraw the drill cutting, connect the female spigot, put back any part that has been pulled out, and connect the ground terminal.

    Q:
What are the steps to replace the windshield Wiper Switch/washer switch for the 1994 Jeep Wrangler? Posted by Customer
    A:
Unplug the electrical connector and tape it flat against the harness. Remove the turn signal switch without pulling the connector out of the column, just enough for access to the housing screws. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Bend a straightened paper clip into a hook to lift the key warning buzzer switch out. Remove the four screws or bolts to lift the housing and shroud assembly off the column. Remove the wiper/washer switch actuating lever, the switch cover, and the pivot screw to detach the wiper/washer switch. Install the new switch and cover. Ensure the dimmer switch rod is connected. Position the housing and shroud assembly on the steering column with the lock pin forward of the slot in the lock rack. Install the screws to carefully mate the assembly. Finally, install the key and lock cylinder assembly, ensuring the lock pin extends fully when the key is in the lock position, and complete the installation in reverse order of removal.
