    Verify the accelerator pedal operates smoothly. Clean the area around the throttle plate if dirty. Disconnect the battery cable, accelerator and cruise control cables, and electrical connectors from the IAC and TP sensors. Unscrew the throttle body bolts and remove. Inspect the gasket for cracks, tears, and deterioration. Make sure the gasket mating surfaces are clean. Installation is reverse of removal.

    Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, disconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) from the throttle body, disconnect the electrical connectors from the Idle Air Control (IAC) motor and from the Throttle Position (TP) sensor, and unscrew the throttle body mounting bolts.

    Check all of the vacuum hoses and electrical connectors for damage, replacing them with new parts if necessary, then connect them, connect the throttle linkage and (if equipped) cruise control and kick down cable, connect the throttle return spring, using new clamps, install the fuel hoses, check the operation of the throttle linkage, install the air cleaner assembly, connect the negative battery cable, start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
