Mopar 4783583 Cable Hood Latch

Open the hood and support it on the prop rod. Remove the radiator grille. Detach the latch assembly by removing the nuts, then disconnect the release cable from the hood latch. In the passenger compartment, remove the left front kick panel and the bolts securing the hood release handle, moving the handle away from the cowl panel. Under the dash, take out the cable grommet from the firewall. Connect a piece of heavy string or flexible wire to the engine compartment end of the cable, then pull the release cable and wire through the firewall into the passenger compartment, disconnecting the string or wire from the old cable. Attach the string or wire to the new cable and pull it through the firewall into the engine compartment. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the grommet seats properly in the firewall.
