However, some 3.7L V6 engines have a heavy-duty cooling package with an additional mechanical clutch-type cooling fan and a larger-capacity radiator. The electric cooling fan operates when the engine coolant temperature exceeds certain thresholds, depending on whether the air conditioning is on or off. If the electric cooling fan does not work properly, check the fuses and then test the fan motor. The mechanical cooling fan on the 3.7L and 4.0L V6 engines with the heavy-duty cooling package should be checked for excessive bearing play and fluid leakage.
