Q:
How to Replace the Left and Right Fuel Level Sensor, Fuel Pressure Regulator,Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter Module on Dodge Challenger? Posted by Customer
A:
To replace the left fuel level sensor and fuel pump module, start by removing the module. Carefully cut the wiring harness clip and disengage the fuel level sensor wires from the clip. Then, loosen the two retaining clips and pull the fuel level sensor out of the fuel pump module. You can replace either the fuel level sensor unit or the fuel pump module. After installation, turn the ignition switch to On to activate the fuel pump and build up fuel pressure in the fuel lines. For the right fuel level sensor, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel filter module, begin by removing the module. Detach the fuel level sensor from the fuel filter module by spreading the four locking tangs and pulling off the sensor. Cut the two wire ties that secure the wiring to the fuel return lines and disconnect the ground wires from the fuel filter module. Remove the fuel level sensor. If you're only replacing the fuel pressure regulator, you can stop here. To remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel filter module, pry off the retaining clip. Inspect the condition of the fuel pressure regulator O-rings. If you're replacing the fuel filter module, remove the ground ring from the recess for the fuel pressure regulator. When installing the ground ring in the new fuel filter module, ensure that the ground ring terminal is seated correctly in the notch. After installation, turn the ignition switch to On to activate the fuel pump and check for fuel leakage.
