    To disconnect the fuel level sending unit electrical connector, depress the tab and disconnect it from the underside of the fuel pump module. Avoid touching the terminals or the sending unit resistor card, as well as pulling the sending unit by the wires or float arm.

Use a special service tool or a brass drift to loosen the lock ring securing the fuel pump module and lift the assembly carefully from the fuel tank, ensuring the float arm of the fuel level sending unit and fuel pump inlet strainer remain undamaged. Be prepared for fuel spillage from the reservoir when removing the module.
