- A:Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the air intake duct. Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body. On 3.SL models, remove the two nuts that attach the intake manifold bracket to the throttle body, then remove the two lower bolts that attach the bracket to the cylinder head and remove the bracket. Remove the four mounting bolts and remove the throttle body. Remove the throttle body 0-ring and inspect it for cracks, tears and deterioration. If it's damaged, replace it. Wipe off the gasket mating surfaces of the throttle body and the intake manifold. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to tighten the throttle body mounting bolts. If a Diagnostic Trouble Code (OTC) is set, take the vehicle to a dealer and have the service department use a factory scan tool to re-learn parameters. Disconnect the air intake duct from the throttle body. Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body. Remove the four throttle body mounting bolts and remove the throttle body. Remove the throttle body's 0-ring type gasket inspect it for cracks, tears and deterioration. If it's damaged, replace it.
