• Q: How to remove and install a cylinder head in six cylinder engine on 1990 Dodge Ramcharger?

  A: To have the cylinder head off, as a starter, take out the cooling system, next take off the air cleaner and take off the accelerator linkage. After that, remove the vacuum connected to the distributor and the carburetor and then the leads connected to the spark plugs. Remove the heater hose and by-pass hose clamps and the lead from the coolant temperature sending unit. Take off the pipe from exhaust manifold and, if must, disconnect the hose and take out the air tube or diverter valve vacuum line. Continue and disassemble the manifolds, the covering of the rocker arm, the shaft and the rocker arms, then, to remove sequentially the pushrods, which have to follow numbered to be fitted again.
