A: Prior to camshaft withdrawal, the cylinder head(s) have to be unbolted; the camshaft thrust plate as well as the O-ring seal removing them carefully while making sure that the cam bearings or journals are not damaged in the process and in addition, the camshaft oil seal has also to be removed.
